requests from in-laws for a visit when we can't really break away?
I *thought* I had explained our situation (if I'm lucky, I will possibly be taking, or have just taken, a new job offer around that time and we'll likely still have a pet-sitting commitment to friends (pet boarding is not an option)).
I then get an email, not acknowledging any of my previous attempts to explain why we're busy and don't know if we'll be able to make it, but rather requesting us to RSVP soon, basically, so a headcount can be done and appropriate arrangements made for a rental house.
A little skillful, tactful language needed. Thanks!
