I probably did sound disrespectful, but it's true, in the time I've known him he has seemed to be on this mission to get a girlfriend - ANY girlfriend. I don't know why you would say that I enjoy getting all these gifts. Actually, as I said in my post it made me extremely uncomfortable, and I told him to stop it. I mentioned his income a lot because I feel that I can't possibly keep up with him in terms of gifts because I have so much less money than he does. I am not impressed by money. I was not taking advantage. I'm trying to explain that I feel like he practically forced all this stuff on me even though he knew it was freaking me out. I think it was some kind of weird control thing - like, maybe if I just give you enough presents, you'll change your mind and be my girlfriend. I'm no gold miner! It's not that I don't respect him. I like and respect many things about him - but not his needy demands. I'm angry at him, but that doesn't mean I don't respect him.
