I have been in this type of situstion before, except my kids were younger. The only regret I have had is that I let someone come between me and my kids, and it still bothers me. All kids are mouthy at times, especially teenagers. Well I was, and my kids are a little, now. They grow out of it, though. I think as long as he is not asking you to choose, and never does ask you to, then you may be able to call a truce, but Im not sure I would expect the kids to immediatly like him. :) Its a tough situation, but as mothers, our kids should come first. If he cant see the good in them now, will he ever? Or will he just become more critical of them? In my experience, personal and seeing friends and family in similar situatioms, number two happens more often.
