Hi everyone, I have not posted in a long time, but I have come up with a weird situation and I need some advice. Last week we talked with a repair person about getting blinds installed on our windows. He said that he would charge $20 per blind and we had four blinds on the main windows and two side windows, so the total would have come to $120. However, we decided to return the blinds of the side windows and only have the four main window blinds installed. Today he came and installed the four blinds. I made out a check for $80 when the guy was leaving, but he said that we had discussed $30/blind (instead of $20) and the total was supposed to be $120! He wasn't ready to listen to any explanation that we had 6 blinds when we had discussed $120 and he actually only installed four of them. And when we tried to explain, he just returned our check and said that we got the blinds installed for free. We tried to stop him and talk him into taking the money and at one point I even said "Look, I'll pay you the whole $120" but he left saying we can talk tomorrow. I'm still upset by this whole incident because we live in a condo building and this is our building's maintenance person. I don't want to look like I am the one being dishonest, and I think that he is also not intentionally being dishonest, but I know exactly where the confusion is, and he is not ready to consider the explanation. So.... What do I do???? He will be at work tomorrow and I know I am right but I also have to deal with this guy for as long as I live here. Thanks for any help!
