Almond Milk
1/2 cup raw blanched, slivered almonds
2 cups water
1 tsp almond extract or vanilla extract (optional)
Sweetener to taste
Soak almonds in water overnight in fridge.
Drain almonds.
Put almonds in a blender. Grind to a powder.
Add water, and blend for several minutes, or until all solids are pulverized.
Add extract, and sweetener if desired.
Strain through a piece of cheesecloth or a fine strainer.
Chill for several hours.
Shake well before each use.
Keep refrigerated.

Almond-Oat Milk
Make almond milk, as above,
adding 1/2 cup hot, cooked oatmeal to blender.
Blend and strain, as above.
Add more water, if needed, to obtain desired consistency.
Chill, and serve.
Keep refrigerated.

Almond-Rice Milk
Make almond milk, as above,
adding 1/2 cup hot, cooked rice to blender.
Blend and strain, as above.
Add more water, if needed, to obtain desired consistency.
Chill, and serve.
