Rice-a-Roni : 1 cup long-grain white rice 1 cup broken thin spaghetti (1/2" pieces) 4 cups water 4 tsps vegetarian bouillon ('chicken', 'beef', vegetable, etc) 1/4 tsp garlic granules or powder 1/2 tsp onion granules or powder Oil (1 - 3 tsps) Heat some oil in a heavy frying pan. Add rice and pasta, and stir-cook over medium heat until pasta is light golden brown. Add garlic and onion and saute` 1 minute. Carefully add water and bouillon. Stir well. Bring to boil. Cover, and cook on low heat until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender. If water cooks away before this, add more as needed. If there is excess water, simmer a little longer until it is absorbed. Turn off heat, and let stand 5 minutes. Stir, and serve. NOTES: Vary this by using different types of rice and pasta, different flavors of bouillon, and various spices. Add shredded vegetables, if desired.
