This is sort of an odd request--my elderly aunt (in her 80's) has to eat more salt, due to low sodium levels, so I'm trying to figure out some recipes that will work. Neither my aunt nor I usually cook with salt--I just don't like the taste of overly salted food, and I figure I get enough sodium from various commercial foods I eat. I'm vegetarian, my aunt is not, but she does eat some of the food I make. She usually eats oatmeal for breakfast (I was thinking about adding salt to the cooking water). We both eat a lot of steamed vegetables, so that's something where salt could be added. I make a lot of vegetarian soups and stews, and she sometimes eats them, so she could possible add salt to her portion. She also like salads (usually lettuce, tomato, garbanzo beans, olives, and dressing), although our weather this spring and summer has been cool enough so that we haven't had many salads. I'd appreciate any ideas anyone has for adding salt, or highly salted recipes.
