In terms of cooking them, I'm with you - I'm not a fan of frying. With the oil in them, I wonder if less oil can be used (especially if pan is non-stick).

Back before I was a vegan and made meatballs from scratch, I'd brown them in a frying pan - without oil - then let put them in the spaghetti sauce as it cooked (several hours). If these hold together, the same thing could be done - or, as you suggested, just bake them.

Hopefully I'll try this over the weekend, and I'll post my results.
