Hi Chef Deb. I tried again to make split pea soup in my cast iron 2 qt. French oven--you know the kind that comes in all of those unusual colors. Again I simmered the peas for 2 hours after soaking them for 12 hours and about 25% of the peas came out hard and crunchy. I would deem this attempt a failure. So what can I do with this overpriced piece of French cookware that is also very hard to clean? Yeah, I'm disillusioned. Although I do like the color.I would think it would be ideal for reheating cooked beans. But other than that, would you offer some suggestions? Again, I thank you!
