Rinse the artichoke.
Put it in a steamer...
Steam until tender
(a leaf will pull out easily).
Drain well.
Pull out the leaves and
arrange them neatly (or not neatly)
on a plate.
Now find the core ("heart") of the
artichoke. Remove the inedible fuzzy
parts. The core is sort of bowl-shaped
and softish. Cut this into strips
and add to the plate of leaves.
Set out a small bowl of melted marg or
your favorite salad dressing.
Dip the bottom end (opposite from point)
of the leaves into the dressing.
Eat the tender part; discard the tough part.
Eat the sliced "heart".
