Thanks Deborah. I saw the label info for Earth Balance on the internet before posting my original query and discovered it was higher in fat content than some others such as Smart Balance.
I forget the Doctor's name that I watched on Vegsource saying not to use any oil, period. It's very confusing to a beginner trying to fix a broken diet of over 59 years. While I well understand the benefits of not eating meat or dairy products I'm not clear on some of the other things. If I am not to use any oil then wouldn't that leave out natural peanut butter? Peanuts are high in protein and are a legume that is supposed to be acceptable for a heart healthy diet.
I have had colitis nearly all of my adult life and it has completely gone away since starting the plant-based diet three months ago. I lost thirty pounds in the first month and took three inches off my waist. I'm getting a new cholesterol check in November and look forward to getting the results. I know I'm doing something right and don't want to mess it up by eating the wrong thing.
