Tofu BBQ "Chicken"
Freeze 1 package of firm waterpack tofu
(drain first) for at least 48 hours.
Thaw tofu.
Cut tofu into 4 thick slices.
Put into a saucepan:
4 cups water
6 tsps vegan "chicken" bouillon powder
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1 tsp sugar or other sweetener
Bring mixture to a boil.
Add tofu. Bring to boil again, then
turn heat to medium simmer. Cover.
Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Drain tofu. Save broth for soups/stews.
Put tofu slices on baking sheet.
Cover tofu with BBQ sauce.
Broil until browned.
Shred, and serve.
