Subject:         Bottled water alternative

This isn't a request for a recipe, but I was wondering if someone can recommend an alternative to bottled water? I tried a brita pitcher once and it didn't seem to make much of a difference (in the taste anyway). I want to filter out all the bad things in water, and have a better taste to it. I'm sick of wasting money on bottled water. I try to just buy the gallons of filtered water but I'd like to know if there's a better alternative.
