My husband is a diabetic and wants me to adjust my recipes so he can still have jams and jellies. Would all-fruit recipes work or do they have to much sugar/carbs? I have the following recipe that I would like to be able to use: Berry - Fig Preserves. It calls for 3 cups mashed figs, 3 cups sugar, 2 pkgs of 3 oz. strawberry, peach or blackberry jello. How can I make this an acceptable diabetic recipe?? I need recipes for the following: figs,Roma Apples, pears, blackberries and elderberries. Or, it it cheaper to just buy jams and jellies??
