Hi Mary,

You can make refried "beans" with
cooked, mashed green beans, or
cooked, mashed green peas.

In either case, drain very well before
mashing, and add back a bit of liquid as
needed for proper consistency.

If the skins don't mash smoothly, use a
food processor or blender (stick or other)
to obtain a smoother consistency.

If you like lentils, use them in
the same way (cooked and mashed).

By the time you get the mixture
seasoned and spiced, you will
"never know the difference" between
this and regular refried beans.

As a matter of fact, since you like
green peas and green beans, you have
a fine solution for all your bean needs.
