You may have been eating no cooked anything but that doesn't equate to healthy eating. JUst like cutting out meat doesn't mean you are eating healthy. Gorillas are huge but rarely get to eat overt fats. Fat is very hard to digest, the fat takes so long to digest that the sugars you eat saty in your system instead of flowing out the way they should and this causes high blood sugar and can cause other problems like candida, high blood sugar, dizziness and nausea. I've been reading the Dr. Graham forum for many years and read of so many people coming from a high fat raw diet that find that when they try the 811 program they prosper. 811 is 10% of your calories coming from fat. Basically that means eating huge amounts of fruit and a couple heads of green leaf lettuce. A half of an avocado every other day or a handful of nuts every other day would be acceptable but many people go long periods with no overt fats at all and this is considered the best way to heal the body. Along with this diet, in order to maintain health, you must excersise vigourously everyday and get at least 20 min. of direct sun on your skin evryday and sleep until you are fully rested evreyday. Dr. Doug has said that a low fat cooked diet would be generally healthier than a high fat raw diet. Victoria Boutenko also made a change after years of high fat raw and eliminated most of her use of overt fats to find a big jump in health after years of being raw, (on high fat). I have done high fat raw in the past and now working on 811 and have gone for as long as 4 months on it. It isn't easy to make such a change in routine, it is a real challenge but I think it is well worth it. I highly recoomend Dr. Doug Graham's 811 book. Sal
