One of the best things about this book is that is has a week's worth of daily menus for each of the four seasons. Basically, you have fruit for breakfast, fruit for lunch, fruit before dinner, and a big green salad for dinner. The book in on Amazon with the "look inside" feature. Unfortunately, the menu pages are not available for viewing, but you can see and read quite a bit of the text.
Why I bought the book: After looking at it on Amazon, and visiting Doug Graham's website, I really wanted to read the book. I had been puttering around with eating a raw vegan diet, but I knew that what I was eating was too high in fat, not to mention fiddly to prepare. I wanted to try Dr. Grahm's plan and I wanted to make sure I understood the hows and whys, and knew how to do it correctly.
Why I like the plan:
It's easy to follow, simple to prepare.
Virtually unlimited fruit....what's not to like?
The food choices are as unlimited as the selections in your produce department.
Not feeling hungry or deprived...ever.
What I've gained from following 80/10/10 for the past 4 months:
Lost 15 pounds without even trying
Dropped blood pressure back to normal range
Lowered cholesterol levels (back below 200 again)
Lowered HbA1C levels (a measure of blood sugar control, back to normal again!)
Lowered Fasting Blood Glucose levels
Lowered LDL and raised HDL levels
All other blood values in the healthy normal range
Really healthy skin; and I swear my hair is growing in thicker
Better sleep at night
More energy during the day
