Although painful bowel movements can occur during menstruation, endometriosis is not really a cause. I had a similar problem to you, until I discovered I was lactose intolerant. In a (misguided) attempt to lose weight I was using a popular diet shake that has a milk base. Lactaid pills helped a little, but my symptoms improved dramatically when I cut out all dairy. Stress can make IBS worse, mine disappeared completeley when I left a very unpleasant job. I was mistakenly cutting out raw fruit and veg, as these were going through me undigested, and I thought these were the problem.. I now find that I feel great, no belly ache and lots of energy, when I eat mainly raw.
