My comments after some study. Peace with you and I hope you experience optimal health and wellbeing, by living all the factors that have a role, including food and the other factors.

you were probably eating in my opinion too much fat and protein and not enough simple sugars to satiate yourself. We have virtually no need to eat overt (obvious) fats in our diet. I would rather eat a high carbohydrate low fat and protein cooked food diet, like that of McDougall than I would a raw high fat/protein/processed foods diet. all dried food is refined food, and all juices are refined foods that can spike the blood sugar.

There are two types of fiber- soluable, from fruits and tender greens, and insoluable, from grains. Our bowels are irritated by insoluable fiber. does grain eating come naturally? Still, it is better than fat, which stays in the bowels for a while just being digested and absorbed, and then coats the blood vessels, insulin, etc. We should be eating like the other anthropoids, is what I feel. In nature we wouldn't be eating beans, and we wouldn't be eating potatoes or roots, or grains. we wouldn't be eating very many nuts at all, because we don't have easy access to an abundance of these things. we would be eating mostly fruit as our staple, and it would not be dried. it would be fresh figs and persimmons and mangoes and paypayas and bananas and so on. would we be eating and cultivating brocolli? fat causes a cascade or series of complications and problems. so does starch. sprouts may be somewhat in between, which is why the hippocrates health institute program works kind of well, but they condemn fruit. fruit appeals to our eyes, our nose, and our taste buds and is the only food, besides greens, that can be eaten in their virginal state, without heating them up. they have our greatest nutrient needs, which are first, water, second carbohydrate, for fuel, and phytonutrients, enzymes, co-enzymes, vitamins and minerals, soluable fiber, some 5% covert fatty acids, protein and antioxidants. what other food has these, in the right balance? fruit makes my bowels happy and they are happy now. do you know how high in fat a salad is that has olive oil, and an avacado? Almost 100 percent by calorie. it is so easy to tip the scales of balance, so I want to start using nutridiary.com but I haven't had the time as yet.

nothing is gained by the cooking process, except that some previous inedible foods are made edible. but every food edible as a raw food is superior as a raw food.

and of course the lifestyle must include other factors as well. it is not a sin to eat something heated and cooked now and then. when I do, however, then my bowels get bothered. I am learning the cause and effect sequence, but I don't bereat myself for eating cooked carbs. If you offered me some, I would have to of course consult my bowels and they would tell me how they feel, and I would probably either take a taste or politely decline all together.

nutrition is almost public domain- everyone spreads their opinions and mis-information, dis-information. I see it happening almost daily. when I worked at the market, people would give free advice to others that I believed was wrong or mis-guided. I definitely believe in education, for that is self-empowerment, and I believe in getting educated by people who could function as good role models. I learn from people who seem to be demonstrating the kind of success I desire. I find these among certain natural hygienists and certain but not all raw foodists and vegans. I don't believe much in individuality-- but I do believe in sensitivity/succeptibility. That is, if someone is sensitive, everyone probably has difficulties, and we have to question whether the food is right for our species- such as grains with celiac disease sufferers. But there is no individual type that can digest grains perfectly. but they are better than fat. such is my view and anyone is welcome to it.

we've all been on a journey of food and health. I used to believe in cleansing. now I'm not sure what I think of it- of herbs, and of psyllium, bentonite and enemas/colonics. we've all reversed our opinions on things, sometimes multiple times, back and forth. I take it all day to day, leaving my mind open for new knowledge, but as yet, after several months, except for the expense I pay for fruit which is wrong because fruit farmers don't get government subsidies, and the price really reflects the choices we make as a society, I have had no problems with fruits and I feel quite better than ever. I eat some greens. I nibble on some thing that are offered to me like pastas, rice dishes, but I wouldn't eat them on my own, and I don't eat much of them. best of luck, and I think it's essential that we get satiated by our foods that we eat, otherwise we have cravings. it is almost impossible in my view to eat too much fruit. if you eat too much, it passes soon. it is a quick food and if you eat so much fruit you regret it, still in 30 minutes to an hour you'll be dancing again, IF other heavy foods don't make up a significant portion calorically of your daily diet.
