ow much does the average raw and/or 80/10/10 family of four spend on food?
as whole-food vegans, who eat about 98% organic, and don't have a lot of local food available, and live in an apartment without anywhere to grow our own food (which makes us very sad!), we are spending about $400 a month on food, which is a significant portion of our income. we consider it absolutely worth it to go without certain luxuries and even what some people consider "necessities" to have a healthy diet.
we are planning to go raw as soon as we have some idea of how to transition, but we are extremely concerned about how much money we may end up spending. any more than we are currently spending may strain our budget to the breaking point. i consider how much we may have to re-allocate if we eliminate soymilk, beans, and grains, and that's not insignificant, but i'm still worried.
a breakdown in a standard food budget for an 80/10/10 family or any raw family at all would be very appreciated!
thanks!
chandelle
