I was in touch with an old student of Dr. D's.
She wrote: i got to a point where my whole day was built around what i ate,
and it was too all consuming to be healthy and balanced for me.
I understand. It's a big commitment to do this diet 100% long term. I stuck
with it because I had a good network of support and my injuries are very
sensitive. It took five years of practicing Hygiene to start feeling satisfied
enough that I could even stay raw from season to season, but I had many
realizations over the years that inspired my discipline.
i think acceptance has to come first, or i'll just be doing raw for fear reasons-
weight, control, preventing future illness, etc- when really how can we know?
Which came first, the chicken or the egg? I'm not sure we can accept
ourselves as some spiritualists recommend by just being. We need to take
risks, and believe in something unique. But I could be wrong.
