First, he and all involved dressed like weirdos...which is okay, but not if you are trying to produce evidence that seems believable, plausible, sensible (which diet HAS to be to me...I don't believe in magic n' such)...reasonable arguments pro the diet the person is promoting. His hair was strange and he kept fiddling with it in such a manner that seemed very arrogant to me. I expect speakers who have something to say to put their ego aside while lecturing...I wasn't there to admire his hairdo or marvel at his creative clothing...I was there to SERIOUSLY consider going raw. I wanted evidence, PROOF, that considering this change was sensible.

He seemed to pitch several of his books and other products...big turnoff to me...I'd already paid to see his lecture...not to see his infomercial. If he stuff to sell, someone else should've manned a desk quietly while he concentrated on his informational lecture only.

He didn't have scientific references. I know science, medicine, etc. is often wrong, but I still feel that studies or even just chemical illustrations of why in theory something should work is better than something just promoted as "magic". He was asking us to believe things that didn't make enough sense...didn't have any chemistry or theory behind them...just sort of raw allegations.

In contrast, I went to a Dr. McDougall lecture (cooked low-fat vegan). He wore the boring, sensible clothing I would expect a doctor/serious scientist to wear...I mean, when I say boring... he looked good in the clothes, but they were just clothes that didn't scream LOOK AT ME>>>MY EGO IS INFLATED, etc. He had a regular guy haircut and looked like someone who's seriously studied his whole life. He didn't direct attention to his physical appearance, but rather, to the CONTENT of his lecture. He seemed humble and sincere.

He didn't fidget with his hair, or get cute looks on his face, or any of that...he stuck with the lecture...didn't promote his materials or try to get more money out of us than we'd already spent for the lecture.

He had scientific references and scientific stuff galore...it was just overwhelming information.

REsult...I am a McDougaller...not a Wolfer! This is serious stuff to me. I gotta say, though, I do read Dr. Graham's posts because they do contain enough science that I can look something up to verify this n' that...and I sure appreciate that from Dr. Doug!
