i don't know where you got the idea that vegans are supposed to think grains are healthy, or that being vegan also implies somehow that you must be pro-grain. veganism is primarily about ethics and secondarily about diet. even thinking that meat is healthier than grains would not exclude you from being a vegan. also, not all boards at vegsource are pro-grain -- check out the eat to live board and the vegscience board to see some other perspectives. personally, i'm a vegan but follow the fuhrman eat to live plan, so i'm attempting to eat a low-grain diet based primarily on fruits and vegetables. if health were my primary motivation instead of ethics, i'd probably eat fish or at least supplement with fish oil while still trying to avoid grains -- does that make me not a vegan because i think fish probably has more health benefits that grains? no, because i don't eat it and still see the ethical problems with eating fish. it's not unvegan to be honest and scientific about foods and concede that some non-vegan foods might be healthier than their vegan counterparts.
