It's amazing how bad junk foods can make you feel once you've experienced the ultimate pure body you have on a sound raw food program. I literally have felt drugged from eating certain foods. Certain foods have a stimulatory effect, which actually impairs you like alcohol, caffeine, and other drugs do. I didn't even realize any of this until I went raw, then did some backsliding.

The more you backslide, the more you realize how good a diet like this is. I encourage backsliding, for that very purpose. Then you won't feel deprived when you see everyone around you shoveling ice cream and pizza into their mouths, then all of a sudden saying, "I'm tired... I must not have slept well last night." They're clueless!

Certain things can bring on cravings. I've found food sensitivities to be a major one. Dates and citrus make A LOT of people backslide. Dates are dehydrating, and make people crave salty things. Citrus is highly allergenic, and make people feel undernourished, since their system is fighting the allergic reaction. Maybe you have fallen into this trap. I have. I don't bother eating dates anymore, because I never saw one positive benefit in eating them, besides satisfying hunger. They leave me thirsty, irritable, and make me crave salt. No thank you. Leave dates for the bugs, I say.
