it can be used to cut off the boil of ignorance, or to decapitate oneself!" Not only is Dr. D's approach to raw and lifestyle more balanced than anyone else i've heard in the raw movement, but his style of just being a great example of health, energy, and joy, without saying that everyone who isn't raw is wrong, like some raw enthusiasts, is very inspiring to me. People will see in time what works, and what doesn't work. We have to look long-term, as Dr. D says, and not micro-manage our health. At camp, one of the mommies who brought they're babies to the playground where we did all kinds of cool exercises, finally got curious enough to ask us what we were doing and who we were (because we seemed to be having more fun than anyone else :) ). I expected Dr. D to give a little intro on what we were doing, kind of like a little plug for himself. I mean, here he had all these shining examples around him of health and physical prowess that could back up what he said. But all he said was, "Oh, we're just playing around." And it was almost said as an after-thought. Let me tell you, that one tiny little comment, that could have been easily missed, was probably the most powerful lesson i learned at camp, even though i learned LOTS of lessons there. It was the lesson of how to carry myself not only with this diet, but with anything else i do - how to be a good ambassador, i guess you could say. No proselytizing, no "shoulds", no "musts", just do what you do, and if people come, fine, and if they don't, fine, but at least you're having fun in the process. And when people REALLY want to know, they'll pin you down and really ask. So many of us want to take every opportunity to tell folks about how great what we're doing is (whatever it might be), but i guess what i learned from that lesson on the playground is that most people are only mildly curious, and don't really care to REALLY know what you're talking about, so why waste too much energy on it at first? I don't know if words did my lesson justice, but at least i have the feeling of it inside. Take care all,
