Nueve9 - Congrats on finding the 8-1-1 board !!! 1. Make your own sports drinks. Blend a banana or two with water and take it with you. Or soak some dates and take the water. If it's hot, you'll be sweating, so add a stalk of celery or two for the electrolytes. 2. Think Recovery. During and immediately following exercise, your body provides catalysts in the bloodstream that allow for increased sugar uptake, that's from the blood --> to the tissues to restore muscle glycogen ( "animal starch" as I like to call it ). Take advantage of this window and eat a large meal of simple carbs - namely, sweet fruits. You're recovery time will decrease dramatically and you can enjoy higher energy levels. 3. Avoid foods that dehydrate. Eat 8-1-1 raw vegan and this is inevitable. Salty foods are the worst offenders. As a cyclist, you may want to visit Bradley Saul at OrganicAthlete on the web. He is an experienced cyclist and 8-1-1er. hope this helps !!!
