Subject: Dr. D, a breakthrough in handstands!

Today i was holding beautiful handstands, and walking around on my hands like nothing....in fact, i walked around so much that my shoulders got really sore and started burning. It was great! I felt like i was putting on a circus show for the people around me, but i was just having fun (and surprising myself). :)
I was wondering what helped me feel so confident walking around all of a sudden, because even when my body would tip far to one side or the other, it was easy to get straight again. It didn't feel like it usually did, which is to over-correct and hope i get it right so i don't fall over!
What i came up with was that the pushups on the Swiss ball are what helped my core strength so "suddenly". Lately i've been doing pushups with my hands on the ball (65cm ball), then each set moving them closer together, until they're touching, with my feet together on the ground (i don't do too many of those, yet!). Then i spend a few sets doing pushups with my hands on the ground, and one foot on the ball, with the other foot on top of that. Then i end by walking my hands back and forth to the ball, with my feet still on the ball.
Anyway, it was really exciting, so i just wanted to share it with my "handstand coach". :)
Take care,
danny
