Here's my take: - The RDAs are biased in favor of a conventional, Standard American Diet (SAD). - The values have been sent based on how people are expected to eat, not how they should eat. - The values of the RDAs represent well the SAD: low in fresh fruits and vegetables (thus the low values for vitamin C, and no values for fiber), high in fat and animal products (thus the high values for zinc, protein, and iron), and high in dairy products (thus the extremely high values for calcium).
