I originally didn't respond here 'cause I don't wear make-up, but I guess I should add in why and all. I never really got into it. I did a bit when modeling as a young teenager, but not really otherwise. It was mainly because of my close relationship with my grandmother. I used to spend a month or two with her in the Summer as a child and talk with her while she was getting ready in the mornings (as well as the rest of the day). I remember her telling me while she was putting on her makeup (more than once) how she wished she had never started using makeup and how I had wonderful skin and how she wished hers was as good. It would take her a couple of hours to do her hair and makeup - every day. She would say that once you start using makeup you get kind of stuck in it and it messes up your skin so you feel you need it. I could see what she meant. She also pointed out how nail polish did a similar thing to her nails - turning them yellow and all. It stuck with me & I'm glad. I don't feel I need makeup and can't imagine ever wanting to use it at this point. Heck, I don't even let them stamp my hand at fairs, clubs, etc. in order to get back in or to drink. LOL, to drink! Like I want to do that, heh. Once I started getting acne as a fast food french fry eating teenager, I couldn't imagine putting base on my skin as it would have clogged my pores even more. Whenever I did decide to do some sort of makeup (which was about once or twice a year in my teenage years) it would be without base - mainly eyeliner sort of stuff. LOL - I liked to do it dramatic when I did it though - a goth before my time, heh. I wouldn't do that at all now though - find it too icky personally. I actually have always wondered how people can deal with kissing people with makeup on, as it would get on them too. Icky IMO. I understand how people get into and are interested in makeup and understand how it can be hard to stop, so I'm glad I never really got into it and am ever grateful for my grandmother's brutal honesty and openness with me about it all. It saved me from all the hassles. Wishing freedom for you all comes easily as well. :-) Of course, you are free to wear makeup if you truly want to - just hope you don't feel you have to anymore, that's all. ;-) Aloha!
