I went to a seminar recently to learn how authors can be better speakers. I want to do more public speaking. Anyways, throughout the week, people commented on my healthy glow with no make-up but when I went for my "make-over" for the stage, the ladies were determined to "lessen my shine" so I looked better under lighting. It did make a huge difference and I felt comfortable on stage however, once I was done speaking, I felt like a clown walking among the guests. I will reserve the paint for the stage from now on. I might even go to the bathroom before greeting guests to wipe some of it off next time! I kept telling them I felt hypocritical telling people to eat and live more naturally while wearing make-up! My target audience is the church and these ladies felt I needed to look more like them for them to listen to me. Hmmm? I did buy the brands mentioned above but still-it's not normal to wear it. You should've seen what they did to my hair!!!! It was dried, curled and sprayed to the point that I was able to give an hour presentation, eat a meal, then drive home for 8 hours with the window down, sleep for 6 hours and wake up looking like I was ready to go on stage! Never again.
