Great post, Kris! I quit wearing makeup (foundation) about 8 months ago. I remember that the first week I did that, I felt a little naked and vulnerable because my skin was not looking too good and I had always used makeup to "hide" that fact. Now I can't imagine why I ever thought it was a good idea to put that awful goop on my skin! For special occasions, I usually put on a little eye makeup (but not mascara) and a tiny bit of lip pencil. These are products I bought at the health food store, not tested on animals and all that. But I believe that eventually I may stop doing even that, as my lips seem like they are becoming more pink on their own! It sure is fascinating and fun to watch the physical changes occur. People are now telling me that my skin looks glowing, or dewy, and I hadn't gotten compliments on my skin for years. This fruitarian diet is working miracles every day. Yesterday I met some friends for lunch who are my age but we hadn't seen each other in a while. I must say (as kindly as possible) that they looked older and their skin had definitely aged. Everyone commented on how fresh and young I was looking. They wanted to know what I was using on my skin, had I had microdermabrasion, etc. So it was a great opportunity to talk about the magic of fruit. Plus, I was eating fresh pineapple while they had crab bisque, pizza, salmon, and chocolate fudge torte. I have also quit using soap or any cleansers on my skin. The only thing I use now is whatever food I happen to be eating. Last night I had papaya for dinner, so after I ate I took the skins of the papaya and rubbed them all over my face. It feels luscious to clean with fruit! Then after a few minutes of letting the pulp stay on my face I rinsed it off with cool water. My skin was glowing. I feel like I possess the secret to the Fountain of Youth! Thank you, Dr. D., Janie, and all of you wonderful 811ers for all your friendship and inspiration. What a wonderful journey this is. Come along, grow young with me, the best is yet to be. . . Love,
