The makeup brand I use is called "Bare Essentials", a company out of San Franciso that uses non-toxic mineral powders for your foundation, concealor, blush, and eyecolor, etc. Their mascara, I think, is less toxic than most commercial brands and their lipsticks are make from natural ingredients with wonderful essential oils like geranium in them, so they taste/smell good when you wear them. (It also helps preserve the base oils in the lipsticks.) You can find them on the internet, through QVC or late night infomercials in the US.

The longer I've been raw the more comfortable I've become in not wearing makeup. Now,I rarely use it. Usually I only wear some when I go out in the evening for a formal occassion, am wearing more formal clothing, or when I am performing. (I belly dance.)

There are other brands of mineral powders and "natural" makeup out there. The better health food stores are starting to carry different lines. I also know of a line called "La Bella Donna" that is marketed to spas in the US. It's products are very simular to "Bare Essentials" but at inflated spa prices.

Eating raw gives a health glow to the skin and, in my experience, cause me to look at least 10 years younger than I am. I'm fortunate in that my work, as a massage therapist and artist, I'm rarely required to wear makeup and so now I seldom do.

Also the more I hang out with other raw food/natural people the more comfortable I become in forgoing the paint. The healthier and more fit I become the more beautiful I look.
