Hi Rebecca,

Well, I know that cooked grains inflame my body and make my fibromyalgia worse. I have the "Grain Damage" book, and it explains how cooking alters the nature of the grains to where the body is left fighting the negative repercussions of their consumption. I know what you mean about the bible, and although Ezekiel's bread (that included dung, by the way, and no one eats that--it was for symbolism) was instructed as food to him, all the dietary practices of the people were iffy in the health department because of sin. The Garden of Eden was optimum, and this carries through the rest of the Old Testament where every written prose relating to health mentions the bounty of orchards and life in natural foods.

I do have a question in relation to soaked "raw" grains, by the way. I have read that other raw foodists soak oat groats and then grind them up with water to eat them. But since raw groats go rancid quickly, they are steamed at a high temperature to destroy the enzymes so they will keep, and these are the groats that practically all health stores carry. That means they are dead, right? And doesn't that mean they were originally cooked, so we should not eat them because of some type of chemical change done to them already? I would really like some answers to this, for I have a bag of these groats that I bought several months ago, and I don't want to throw them out, but I also don't want to eat something that will hurt me. Thanks so much.

Theresa
