Hi Redem.
I dealt with HG for about 15 years, and it was pretty serious near the end of it (yes, i did say at "the end of it").

When i first went raw, i was scared of sweet fruit, and barely ate any of it, maybe 2-4 apples a week, which meant i had to compensate those calories with tons of greens and fats. But that was way too much work, and when i came across an interview with Dr. D, i felt like it was the first time i had read something from a raw-foodist that made total down-to-earth sense, and decided that this guy knew what he was talking about, and i'd put it to the test.

Was i scared to eat all those bananas at first? You bet i was! And i didn't eat enough at first because even though he said it took 10-15 bananas for an athlete's meal, i still had a hard time picturing it.

At first i did think i was having HG reactions, but soon realized that it was a combination of detoxification, fear, and ketosis - the conversion of fats to sugars for use as fuel (because i wasn't eating enough fruit yet). It wasn't until i cut the fats that i was able to really handle the fruit sugar. By cutting the fats i mean like to 1 avo per day for 3500 calories. You won't see the benefit of this program until you really do it. It won't work while there's still cooked food and too many fats in the body.

Long story short, it's 11 1/2 months later, and i've never felt so much energy, clear thinking, and joy as i do now. I have a hard time finding playmates to train with because nobody i know has the endurance to keep up. And what Dr. D wrote about Health and Fitness Week - take his advice. A week of shining, healthy examples and great food!

Good luck!
In health,
danny
