Subject:         Inorganic salt...who is right?

The Gerson diet prohibits salt, as it's named as an enzyme inhibitor and they are relying on the enzymes for healing.

I just conversed with Robert Young (microbiologist) and he agrees that salt is an enzyme inhibitor and YET, he believes that enzymes are not the most important thing in healing (he is into creating new stem cells?). So, hence he uses salt liberally. He also HEALS cancer.

Interesting...Max Gerson could only achieve success routinely without salt, but Robert doesn't experience that and he breaks other rules, as well, like with oils.

I once had a client who sometimes would pass out and the only thing that would revive her is a glass of salty water. Her salt levels would strangely drop at times.

People are voting who should be the next moderator of this board. How about a test of competence? let's see who is the smartest and most available?

We all know that too much inorganic salt is bad. If it were so good, we could drink ocean water. But even organic salt is somewhat restricted in the gerson therapy.

Some people, like my client, NEED salt, organic or inorganic at times, while some heal from cancer staying away from salt.

Should blood tests be relied on to determine this or is there another simpler way?

For myself, I feel inorganic salt is an irritant to me, but maybe because I am running dehydrated usually. It dries my skin and irritates my eyes. For me, it's a guilty pleasure. My own constitution agrees with the Gerson findings.

Dr McDougall made a video about salt and said to not make a big deal about salt, because people rely on it for flavoring. But here, we are talking about healing from "incurable" disease, not for healthy vegans.

Please share your wisdom in this paradox.
