Yes Karen,

we need to be very wary of people suggesting to eat a certain way. For eg, you will get many in the vegan movement suggesting low fat and high carb and give their fancy philosophy to suppport this idea or may even go as far to bring up some studies to support this idea, but they forget that these set ideas will not work for everyone because people are all different. Some do well on low fat, some do better on higher fat, some do better on high carb and others do better on lower carb diets.

One of the keys to doing a good diet is to choose a nutritious diet with a macronutrient balance which works well for you, but this can take some years of experimentation to work out an optimal balance.

You will observe that many raw vegans fail because they follow certain set ideas of raw food leaders (many are profoundly understudied), but we can not go down that path because we are not all robots. We need to remove the blinkered thinking on diet and start widely reading the research so we are not stuck in set ideas, ie, we want raw food leader teachings to become relevant to real world people by being flexible and helping one tailor their diet to that individual's situation. If a leader is hung up on low fat and high carb their effectiveness at helping people will be limited.

At the moment the raw teachings are very text book 101 teachings and it's no wonder so many raw vegans fail to thrive. People are reading all these books and websites and participating in forums and listening to all types of irresponsible advice and the result is that most raw vegans will fail to thrive. As l have said time and time again...we need to get out of the raw food 101 teachings, remove the blinkered thinking and move forward with a widely educated mind. At the moment the movement is stuck and we are indeed a laughing stock. We can do better.
