I think the festival is too expensive as it is, and
in that cost is a required amount of money--what, at
least $100?--to pay a pioneer. If we really look at
it, the pioneer already got paid with a free
vacation, lots of food, and a platform to make more
contacts to boost their businesses.

And I think Doug should absolutely be kicked out,
but that festival was born out of his teachings. I
don't see most of the people really being pioneers
because most of them believe in the extremely low
fat and low protein diet. Therefore, I don't have
the feeling that many of them are true leaders--even
Harley and Freelee aren't--because they continue
most of Doug's teachings. This leads me to think
that Doug won't be kicked out.

And let me add that although some people have
reported benefit from Doug's diet, most have not.
Until people drop the dogma and allow some more
diversity, the festival will die anyway. I think
that the bullying of the Raw Boys or whatever their
name was? (I came on late so don't know all of that)
was uncalled for because they still ate high fruit
at that time and refrained from eating meat at the
festival to appease the vegans.

The bottom line is that as long as people focus on
niche diets, the more the community will die. Add
just enough diversity with a clear objective--which
in this case is providing fresh, organic?, raw vegan
foods, and make the teachers diverse enough to let
the customer figure out a way for themselves. With
this model, Harley and Freelee could be teachers,
but they would have to stop attacking everyone else
in their contradictory efforts of carving out their
own elitist niche. And yes, it is elitist when you
put others down to lift yourself up.
