Are you suggesting that heavy fatty starchy foods do not numb
emotions? Personal experience says that is not true. You seem
to be saying that it's just the calories but 3000 calories of pizza
will numb emotions much more than 3000 calories of bananas.
Heck, 3000 calories of potatoes will numb emotions much more
than 3000 calories of bananas. Learn to fully experience
emotions, to sit with them, to accept them, and there will be no
more desire for cooked foods. Cooked foods will in fact become
unappealing due to their emotion-numbing effects.
But, yes, in the short term of transitioning from a high fat diet to a
low fat vegan diet, cooked starches can be very helpful as
numbing comfort foods. Once one gets settled into something
like McDougall style eating, the transition to fully feeling all one's
emotions & experiencing the best health by going all raw will be
easier. And anyone who wants second-best in health or to avoid
fully engaging with emotions can keep cooked food in their diet.
