Gut bacteria and various chemical reactions in the gut are slowed when you eat large quantities of frozen food, especially when it is eaten quickly and very cold.
There is nutrient loss in freezing as well, though the amount of loss depends upon the type and length of the freeze. Traditional frost free results in the most damage.
