When you bring on the heat, bananas ripen much
quicker. Removing any air circulation by keeping them
in a box or paper bag (not plastic as it may cause the
bananas to go mouldy) can help too.

I'm just learning what fruits are best to buy as well
to keep me satiated. I got a BIG backpack full of
rockmelon a couple of days ago that were all slightly
soft and ripe-looking from the outside. I especially
chose to buy the ones that were soft because I thought
these would be sweetest. Turns out the opposite was
the case! All the ones I picked had very little
sweetness, and they almost seem better to substitute
in meals for cucumbers. Unfortunately someone picked
them too early from the vine, or they matured in the
cold and never got "carbed up" themselves! :/
One of the joys of this fruit-filled lifestyle is all
the learning there is for us to do. I think a big
lesson it teaches is patience.
