Dr D dealt with a similar post very recently.

Produce is always variable; the calorie charts are an
approximate guide only; maybe the charts represent the
sweetest fruits.

It's trial and error, and buying to allow maximum
ripening time; it all takes practice.

If you weather is currently warm (I'm in UK and it's
glorious), try allocating a ripening area of your
home, preferably in sulight.

In Winter it's harder to find good sweet produce;
then, you may wish to rely on a smaller variety of
more reliable fruits. I buy wholesale dates as a
backup over the cold months.
