It's funny that you say we won't get fat on rice or
bananas, Harley, because that's exactly what I did in
2012. I was skinny and wanted to gain weight, so I
started eating cooked starch in the evenings and had
no trouble piling on kilos.
I'm back on 80/10/10rv now, but over the last two
years or so I gave cooked foods a chance, thinking
some steamed, baked or boiled veggies, tubers or
grains wouldn't hurt. But the reason I'm back on 811rv
now is because those foods failed me.
During the two years I tried cooked, I didn't quite
have the same level of physical performance or
alertness, or connection with my emotions, that I had
prior to 2012 when I had been fully raw. When I had
cooked foods I had symptoms ranging from puffy eyes
and forehead, blocked nose, sluggish digestion, skin
eruptions, poor sleep quality, cravings, among other
things. Yep, cooked foods, even the most
"conservative" sorts, failed me.
Kudos to you for having something to share, and for
helping spread the veg'ism message to more people. But
when it comes to including cooked starch in the
program, I side with Dr Graham and the other fully raw
811ers here on that one.
