Thank you Dr. Doug.

My eczema has subsided! I agree it was too short a time to have that imbalance to result in severe symptoms. Thank you for your advice on greens.

I was on a high protein, low carb vegan diet for 2 years with a lot of seitan and vegan protein shakes daily, minimal fruit but a large salad each day. I was also taking supplements like creatine, green tea, BCAAs, citrulline malate, beta alanine, multivitamin, ZMA (suggested by a body builder to build muscle mass) and ginger, turmeric and holy basil (suggested by Ayurvedic doctor) and Vitamineral Green and Vitamineral Earth for daily detox. I know I have been relying on a cocktail of supplements in the name of health and building muscle mass! Whenever I googled, it always seemed like a good idea (quite gullible here!).

I'm confused about two things:
(1) I stopped them completely. Should I continue to take some of these supplements and gradually wean off of them? Should I continue taking Zinc and B12 supplements permanently, perhaps just once or twice a week.

(2) I feel I am losing muscle mass even though I am able to keep my workouts the same (bootcamp 2x a week and strength training 3-4x a week) as I feel skinnier and softer. My sprinting and breathing is getting easier BY THE DAY! I am at 140 lbs and would like to be 150 lbs and gain muscle mass. I got your book 'Nutrition and Athletic Performance' and it says lift heavier (or train instead of maintain) and eat more nuts and seeds and yet, maintain 811 ratios. Does that mean I should continually increase the carbs in order to make room to eat more nuts (so I can eat more nuts and yet keep 811 ratios intact)?
