I agree, I too find Dr D's statement about "as much
fruit as you care for", and "more fruit than you ever
thought possible" strange; fruit is a high-calorie
food, and it does not take much to eat one's daily
calories. Yet, there are those who claim to be
"stuffed" eating fruit to only half their daily
calorie demands.

As for calories, it's the same as every diet
recommendation out there (excluding the one you
mention): you need to eat slightly below your daily
calorie burn for successful gradual fat loss. Do not
be deceived; if you eat more than you burn, be it
fruit or other foods, you system will make fat. The
diet you mention seems to take the opposite approach:
eat as much as you can so you have the energy to
exercise. Of course, it does not work that way.

Re achieving satiation on fruit, mono meals are the
best way to go, or 1 fruit + 1 type leaf/green salad.
You may well find you eat more salad greens than you
thought possible, in time.
