Hi Geraldine. I too am a breastfeeding mama. I start my day with
a 1/2 gallon green smoothie that consists of oranges, bananas,
celery (or other green), 10 dates, and fruit of choice to fill the
blender (and water). It's about 1500 calories. I drink it in a 1/2
hour. If I don't do this, I also crave nuts or salty carbs, etc by the
end of the day. The bottom line is you need more fruit and greens
earlier in the day. For me, it's easier to blend that first meal than
try to eat it all. It does take practice to get in so much! It might
help to also drink orange juice if oranges are easy to access for
you. A lot of calories in oj without too much bulk. Good luck and
do let us know how you get over this hump!
