Dear Bronwyn~

As my daughter was growing up, from babyhood upward, we spent
lots and lots of time out in nature. We lay down in the dirt and
interacted with the ants, beetles, worms, the lizards, lady bugs, and all
the others….allowing them to crawl over our fingers, creating stories
of them living with their families and friends. Then of course there
are the larger land animals, the birds, the fish we observed. We talked
then about respect for all living things and allowing them to live their
lives. I read her animal story books. We also visited and volunteered
at a farm animal sanctuary where she had the opportunity to hear the
story of how each farm animal was rescued and now lovingly cared
