Subject:         Adrenal fatigue?
Date: June 17, 2014 at 9:58 pm PST

I suspect that I might have some degree of adrenal fatigue
going on.

I am 28 years old and have been eating mostly 811 for the
last 3 years, living hygienically and avoiding stress for the
most part, but travelling can be very stressful and I am
travelling a lot.

I have some symptoms that I would like to hear your opinion
on Doug, and also some pointers to how I could check my
adrenal function (blood tests etc).

Whenever I do short water fast, like 40 hours, I start
feeling like I'm really gonna crash after about 24 hours. I
start shivering, dizzy, very unstable, pretty much it feels
like very low blood sugar.

For a large part of my life I have experienced "low blood
sugar symptoms" in various situations. For example, when
really pushing myself up a hill on the bicycle I sometimes
get the symptoms, shivering, crashing, and it always goes
away within 3-5 minutes after eating some carbs.

I strangely get similar symptoms sometimes when driving and
suddenly seeing a police check. I guess from sudden
adrenaline surge (although I'm not driving illegally or

And throughout my youth and adult life I remember that
whenever I would go for an hour or longer past
"mealtime"/hungry while being active, say walking or
something, I would get VERY unstable, shivering, and urge
for sugar. I would desperately eat something and the
symptoms disappear within minutes.

In addition to these symptoms I experience quite a lot of
fatigue in my life, despite sleeping 10+ hours almost every
night, and I do not always have the energy to be active.

In terms of eating, I seem to do best when I eat really
sweet fruits that provide lot's of sugar as opposed to
something less dense, where I am still craving sweet/hungry
at the end of the meal even though I have eaten something
like 600 calories.

Does this sound like adrenal fatigue signs? Are there any
obvious symptoms I should be having in that case, and/or are
there any good diagnostic methods I could look into like
checking certain hormone levels etc?

Thanks a lot!
