Hello Dr. D,

My question is a combination raw/chiro question. I've been high raw for many years, but ate too much fat for a long time. I finally am eating 811rv, with no overt fat (except for some cacao powder occasionally) - mixed into a smoothie.

I am 55 years old. I ruptured a disk in gymnastics many years ago. It wasn't discovered until about 15 years later, when it had hardened, and was growing way into my foramin/spinal cord? In any case, no one would touch me but a neuro-surgeon. I have seen many chiros over the years, but I've realized that I have spent a lot of time doing traction which was actually harmful. I have more degeneration, spurs, etc., now in my lower cervical, and lower lumbar. Both chiros I have been seeing feel I am at a point of needing more surgery (to clean things up). This would be my 3rd neuro-surgery. The last one did not cause a fusion - the surgeon just shaved some bone to take some pressure off a nerve.

Since you work with so many athletes, I'm wondering if any, who have gone 811rv, have had any regrowth of disks? Since disks are fed by gross muscle movement, I am hoping that if I combine 811 with the 'right' kind of traction and movement, my condition could improve. What I really want to do is dance (I've done ballet and acrobatic dance), and it's getting frustrating to have my spine keep doing what it's been doing.

Thank you for whatever light you can shed.
