I'm glad to hear of your success.
I'd like to clarify that for strength, you must do strength exercises at high resistance, low repetition. For muscular endurance, you can raise the number of repetitions and lower the weight per repetition. I'm not really clear which of the two your trainer has you doing.
With strength gains, you are not likely gaining much in the way of weight.
