I don't recommend ferments because I recommend fresh food as always being the best choice. Most ferments also are salted. Most ferments do not have shelf life, meaning the health value of the product is extremely low. When eating ferments, you are hoping to glean nutrition by consuming the microbes that ate the food, and consumed the food value, before you eat it. When food isn't fresh, evaluating the quality of the food becomes difficult to impossible. You just don't know what it's been through.
